INDIA'S
FIRST IMMERSIVE PLAYGROUND IN GOA
Imagine a space where you can bump into a sound researcher, a visual artist, and a data scientist, all within a day’s work. That’s us. Since our birth in 2019, we have built a diverse community of practitioners from different fields of work, each one interested in art and what futuristic art experiences can be.
Art should not be limited to “artists” alone. We are living in the age of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cutting-edge robotics. It is time to make art more inclusive, more accessible, and a lot more fun. We have been doing that since 2019, one day at a time.
FOUNDATION
The income from Admissions to Sensistan support creative learning for under-privileged youth in Goa and artistic exchange between International and Indian artists through residencies and workshops. By hosting artists, activists, poets, engineers, coders and more talent Sensistan provides an inter-disciplinary platform and supports collaborations.
SENSISTAN
We were born out of Cyrcus Collective, a not-for-profit organization that works with under-privileged children and youth. Established in 2016, the NGO stimulates creative and behavioral skills to provide inspiration and relief to the under-privileged.
CYRCUS COLLECTIVE
INSPIRATIONS
Sensistan takes inspiration from many tech.art pioneers, cultural spaces and social engagements. We combine aspects of proven concepts and adapt to India to create a unique experience.
Check out selected, amazing projects and organizations from around the globe so that you get a sense of where we are coming from. It's absolutely worth learning more about them on their websites.
OUR FOUNDERS
A coder with a postgraduate degree in financial engineering, Shammi is a generalist who first discovered the world of tech-art while living in the US. Inspired by the potential of experiential art for social impact, he quit the corporate race in 2016 to first co-found Cyrcus Collective and three years later, Sensistan. He leverages his social network (and social skills) to build a thriving, multidisciplinary art community in India.
STEPHANIE LUDWIG
Co-founder of Cyrcus Collective, she has been working in the social sector since 2007. She has hands-on experience designing and implementing large-scale humanitarian projects for Germany and the UN. She has also worked in the private sector on tech innovations. At Sensistan, she is the brains behind how technology can be used for large-scale social impact.
LAVANYA MANEM
A qualified primary school teacher, she uses her innate knack of working with children to oversee social education programmes for children at Sensistan. She is also the human resource manager at Sensistan, combining her people skills with the hands-on experience of running her own small business.
